Somehow, between Volvo UK and DVLA, my 2.4D FWD auto is registered at 188g/km, putting it one VED band higher. As far as I know, the advertised emission (and a significant purchase decision) was 183g/km. As it was Saturday, not much the dealer could do other than to promise a refund if it was a mistake. Well, it is.
As soon as I hit 60 m.p.h. leaving the dealer, the now infamous wind noise from the driver's wing mirror started. The engine seems rougher than when I first test-drove it, but it is still early days. Responsive nonetheless. Brakes feel spongy, but again, early days. Visibility is great. I love the commanding driving position. I have no issues whatsoever (and neither did my kids) with the dark tinted windows, but it was an exceptionally sunny day. I love the integrated booster seats. I do regret not opting for the rear arm rest. Oversight on my part; I assumed it was standard. £80 to fill the tank (my first diesel). First time I have ever spent more than £60. But I was greeted with the message "700 miles to empty" when I started the engine. Result. Gripes with the Electric Parking Brake. Yes, it releases automatically as you pull away, but why oh why can't it automatically engage when the engine is switched off. This is going to take some getting use to. Opening the boot door is a doddle. I think because it is hinged so far back, it does not protrude into you when opening. I like this. That's it for now. More to come on living with an XC60.

I'm surprise that the factory have still updated there process for the wing mirrors. I wonder if they will fix it for 2011 I'm not hopeful.
Since it was such a nice day did you take any pictures? |

Is this now standard on ALL MY2011? It isn't included in the interior extras list but appears in the standard interior as "front centre & rear armrests with cupholders & storage". Or are we talking about something different? |

100 miles in = 27.6 mpg. Considering I was averaging 19.9 mpg with my last car, I'm smiling.

2.4 or D5?
155 mph, could you open the bonnet and tell me what is written on top of the engine?
I found it strange that my one month old 2.4 FWD Geartronic has a big "D5" on the engine cover. Is this normal? |

Don't know if it is normal, but it is quite common. Yes, my engine is badged D5.
