Everything is possible. As far as mpg of mine is concerned, I would say it is at least D5. ;-) Well, it has so far around 500 miles on the clock and I'm trying not to worry much about the poor 22 mpg...

Normally, following some EU directives all cars sold in the EU have an approval certificate, where all details on the engine can be found. I suppose UK is not an exception.

I'm not bothered what is says on the engine cover. I am not bothered whether it is a D5 or 2.4D. I am however bothered that the car I bought was mis-sold as a clean (relative) car. I am hoping that somehow it is simply an error in registering the car as 188g/km.

is it a single turbo or a twin turbo?
2,4D will be a single ,
D5 a twin denoted by a big silver actuator cannister down by the back of the engine ..

Clan - I never cease to be amazed by your broad knowledge/familiarity of all the cars around here - it's impressive! Do you work in Volvo?

155MPH, that's a great looking car!!!! If you get a chance could you photograph the rear view from the driver's seat? I've only seen one XC60 in real life and I've always been intrigued by what the rear view visibility would be like!

Happy to oblige, but not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean view through rear view mirror or view if I was to turn back and look out the rear view window?

I tend to rely on my (excellent) side view mirrors and (excellent) rear park sensors in most circumstances.

Yep, either through the interior mirror or turning around. It's the back pillars and rear quarter windows that I'm wondering about - if you get the chance - I'm just curious. I thought the visibility might be pretty bad, but having seen one in real life now, I think it's better than I was giving it credit for? The mirrors do look quite comprehensive!

I can't supply a picture but I found the rear visibility quite good in comparison to others I've driven. The only thing I noticed was when loooking out to the left, with the headrests being filled it seems to cut more of the visibility than the rear quarter, but its simple case of leaning forward.

Default How cool?

The pod display goes from black on white to white on black at night. How cool is that?

Default Bog standard audio

I'm no audiophile, but the bog standard stereo is no slouch. Whilst everyone is raving about the high performance/Dynaudio, don't get put off by the base system. It is pretty impressive. IMHO it sounds perfectly balanced.

My only advice is to upgrade to a USB input so that you can hook up your iPod to the system and control it in-car.

BTW, I'm surprised to find no way to mute the stereo. I had this in my previous car and found it godsend, especially when you have kids shouting over the stereo to be heard.

I wonder if that would be the bog standard 20w output 6 speaker system in the XC60 S model or the 40 W 8 Speaker premium system fitted in the XC60 SE as standard ?
