Default xc60 - CHOICE OF 2 - which way do i go?

Hi
looks like my dealer has 2 fully spec'd up XC60 demo's both SE LUX with every extra.
However the D5 2.4 (the one i want) is in black (not the colour I want)
The non D5 2.4 is in silver (the colour I do want)

If they are both the same price, which i don't know yet, should I should I go for the colour i want or should i take the colour i don't want in order to get the D5?

Is there much difference between the 2.4 and the 2.4 D5? Other than a few horses that is.

thanks

I picked up my D5 XC60 SE Lux last Friday and have to say its brilliant (its also Silver!).

I believe both the diesel engines are the same unit but tuned differently and the D5 has better performance figures but exactly the same fuel consuption figures as the non D5 engine which would make the D5 the obvious choice.

Although I have not driven the non D5 version, my last car was an XC90 with the 163bhp engine & I would imagine it is still very effective in the XC60. I did have the engine 'chipped' though which gave it about as much power as the 185 version.

All in all, the XC60 is a vast improvement over the XC90 in terms of ride comfort and refinement (and I really liked my XC90). It comes down to personal choice and if you can live with the colour (black is awful to keep clean). Under most circumstances, I doubt you would notice the performance difference but if, like me, you tow a caravan or trailer it could be more significant.

Either way, you will be getting a very nice car, good luck.

I have the D5 AWD XC60 in Black, I was concerned about marks / keeping her clean etc, and insisted that they supagard it after i found two marks on it when i collected it. Since then its been brill to wash and shines lovely, i am now pleased with my black car. I'd go for the better engine...(you can not see what colour it is when driving it...)
