Accurate fuel consumption on XC60 diesel automatic
Firstly let me apologise if this question has already been asked.
Could owners please tell me what the their average fuel consumption in the city/highway has been on their XC60 diesel twin turbo with auto transmission and in AWD? If possible could you please tell me in litres per 100km. When I bought my Mazda CX7 they said 13.8 however it is more like 16.5 litres per 100. On Volvo websites they quote 7.6 litres per 100 for combined, 10.2 litres per 100 in the city and 6.2 litres per 100 on the highway. Is this true? Australian Tech specs are on the link below. http://www.volvocars.com/au/all-cars...ical-spec.aspx Last edited by avenger; Mar 8th, 2010 at 09:28. |

most people here will have mpg values, not litres per 100km, but you can convert the mpg figures here pretty easily...

On an extended road test I got 32.5mpg on very mixed town, a road & dual carriageway driving on a 3000 mile vehicle. That compares to 43.5mpg on the same route with the 2.4Drive 2wd manual.

It is extremely easy to convert between mpgUK and L/100km. The rule is 'divide into 282'.
This means take whichever one you have (mpgUK or L/100km) and divide it into 282 to get the other. Example 1. 7 L/100 km is 282/7 = 40.3 mpgUK Example 2. 30 mpgUK is 282/30 = 9.4 L/100km |

Overall I am very happy with the consumption. I have travelled about 6K kms since new. My driving style is to accelerate rapidly up to the speed limit and cruise on that where possible. Accelerate rapidly for overtaking in the country. |

I'm getting 32.5mpg, on my XC60 D5 AWD Geartronic. Thats with a 50/50 split on fast dual carriageway/motorway and simple urban slogging...not bad i thought.
My engine does feel quite tight, so i am driving as gentle as possible, hoping it will free up, but i have only done 400 miles this far...

Sounds about the same as my XC60 D5 AWD Geartronic SE Lux Premium with current mileage of just over 2000 According to the trip computer...around 25+mpg when used on daily 7 mile 'uphill & down dale' country lane commute (don't know when engine gets up to the proper working temp as there's no gauge). 36+ on long motorway trip and not hanging about too much. Fairly happy with these figures given its reasonable performance and weight of car |

I'm currently averaging about 9.9litres per 100km in a 70/30 mix of city/country driving in Oz (that's about 28.5mpg for you UK folks..)
