Default XC60 Steering wheel controls gets warm

Hi, I've been monitoring the discussions on the forum with great interest since I got my XC60 D5 SE Lux AWD in Sept 2009. I'm looking forward to when the fuel consumption starts to improve, but the car is still 'bedding' it in as it were with only just over 3k on the clock.
I do have a question to you fellow members. Since day one I have noticed the steering wheel controls (cruise control & radio controls) do get warm when I have been driving for say 30mins or so. What I mean by "warm" is that you can definitely feel some heat coming from the controls and not the surrounding area or the car heating system.
I have mentioned this to the service department but they have not had any reports of this nature, so just wondered if anyone else is experiencing anything similar??

Thanks

This is perfectly normal. Volvo interior lights are always on.

Same goes for the centre console buttons and display.

One way to make them "cooler" would be to dim the interior lights.

My xc60 has this as well. Also FYI my v70 (08 reg) also had this. Mentioned it to the Dealer and they told me it was the back lighting and not too worry. As the XC60 has exactly the same as the V70 I am now presuming it is normal. That is until it all goes up in smoke!!
