Default 1962 Amazon Coupe soon For Sale

Dear All, with other projects taking priority I've decided to sell Agatha, my 1962 Amazon Coupe. Agatha's a little bit special as she's an original 'Swedish' right hand drive car that was imported to the UK in Oct 1992, she also has the brilliant original full length Webasto Sunroof...which makes for great driving. And being an original 'Swedish' RHD car, all the interior chrome wording is in Swedish...so the new owner brush up on their Flakt and Ljus!

The car's in good original condition in SlateBlue [which is a cracking colour] and was resprayed some 4-5 years ago, this has now nicely toned down. Since purchase last year I've completed a mass of work on her [see below]. The interior is in good original used condition which I had planned to completely refurb' and had bought a set of later headrest seats and rear seats with arm rest. These come with the car should the new owner want to rebuild as part of the interior upgrade.

List of work completed in the last 12 months, it's a long list, all with receipts:

Nearly new 4 Speed Overdrive Gearbox fitted [with modified propshaft and new speedometer cable]
Rebuilt rear drive shaft end float settings
New Cupronickel Brake lines and flexible hoses
New Cupronickel Clutch lines and flexible hose
New Rear Brake Cylinders
New Rear Spring Hangers
New Panhard Rod PolyBushes
New Stainless Steel Exhaust
New Fuse Box with new fuses and spare fuse set
New Magnecor KV85 8.5mm Ignition Lead Set
New Longlife Battery
New Fuel Filter
Rebuilt Fuel Pump [now spotlessly clean]
New Stainless Steel Windscreen Wipers
Have had original wheels dynamically straightened
New Vredestein Tyres
Removed F&R bumbers, buzzed back, repainted inner faces and reinstalled with new fastener sets
New Door Rubbers and Door Seals
New Differential Cover Gasket Seal
All new fluids throughout [engine, gearbox, differential, brake and clutch][Valvoline VR1 20W50]
New KYB dampers and bushes
New 20mm Lower Springs and bushes
Plus a whole host of other works I've part forgotten + Agatha had new sills fitted by the previous owner about 3 years ago.
Also comes with a new all season outdoor car cover.

There's a box full of component receipts, primarily from the ever helpful Simon at Brookhouse. The car will also come with a box full of other spare components that are either brand new [receipted] or good used parts that I've picked up.

I paid £5000 for the car last May and is for sale at £6800. This is a fair price for the car with all the above New Parts and works completed. The car will be available from mid-end of May. Ideally, I want the car to go to a really good new home where she'll be looked after, so if you're after an original good/used 2door Coupe this may be the one.

Good grief, that’s fabulous and temptingly close. Given my phone number also starts 971, I’m surprised I’ve not seen it around.

Thanks Robert, I'm sure a new home will be found for her soon. Interestingly, once my other projects...and work[!]...are out of the way, I want to buy a non-sunroof 2door coupe and rebuild as a fast road/historic rally car, but this will be a couple of years off. The Amazon bug has truly bitten and compared to other 1960's models they're such great fun cars. And one can see why they've achieved such a great following.

Hi Eternal Optimist, I'm in Chapel Row and you'd be very welcome to pop over, see the car, have tea and biccies...I nearly always end up sharing tea and biscuits with good car buyers...Lord knows how many packs of Dark Chocolate Digestives we've munched over the years

That’s a long way from Beenham.... I’m tempted to give you a ring and come and have a look, but I’ve used the ‘I appear to have bought another car’ with my other half too many times now...
