Default Engine re-maps and live VIDA

If you had an engine re-map or the throttle tuned for a sharper response, and had the car serviced by a garage using 'live' VIDA, could the engine software be automatically or deliberately put back to standard?

Not 100% sure.....but I have a feeling that after software updates are done they will overwrite any "mapping" and your car will be back to "standard"........so you need to install your "map" again.......
Hope this makes sense....so possibly not deliberate at all.....

Thanks, you have just confirmed my same suspicion. When I bought my T5, it had a very sharp throttle response, my son even comented that he didn't like driving it because quote, "Every time you touch the throttle, you get whiplash"!. I had the car serviced then took it off the road for the winter. When I started driving it again, it doesn't feel as responsive at lower speed/revs - still just as impressive on kickdown and acceleration above 70. I've just had the car serviced again and mentioned that it didn't seem as punchy low down but after a test drive, the mechanic thought it was normal. I know the garage owner and I'm sure he would have called me if there was a choice to overwrite a performance map.
