Question DAB Radio

I have a 2016 XC70.Until recently the DAB radio worked very well but for the last 2 weeks or so it's been breaking up all the time. A post on a forum local to where I live suggests there is no problem with DAB reception in the area. I have used the scroll button to locate the station I like and not the usual pre set but not noticed any differece. Is there a problem with DAB radios in these cars ? or should I dig a bit deeper to find if its a local problem.

Thanks

In my area even FM drops out frequently. DAB in a moving vehicle is not viable if you want to follow a broadcast.

The FM switch off has been put back again as consumers are just not changing to dab because frankly it doesn't work well evening well served areas.

Have you added a dashcam or other in car electrical accessory such as a phone charger? Sometimes cheap chinese 12v to 5v fag lighter type power supplies or other electronics can severely impact the DAB reception.

I have put a dashcam in mine which is wired to the 12v power supply (Cig Lighter type) but I put a small ferrite tube around the wire and have no trouble with interference.

A ferrite tube definately worth a try, got a xl long USB cable for the car and had issues with the phone 'pinging', raided cupboard and dismantled an old PC cable that had a covered ferrite and wound the cable round it and all was then fine.
