Default V70 fuel pump

Hi guys I'm after some location info. I have a v70 year 2000 problem is fuel pump pops fuses. So I have ordered a new fuel pump I have removed fuel pick up module but it appears not to have a fuel pump in it. Is it located somewhere else or have the fairy and elves stolen it. Thanks

Eh?

There are 2 hatches on the tank - one on the passenger side of the car houses a float only. The one on the drivers side houses the pump and a 2nd float.

You need to remove the rear seat back to get to the driverside hatch.

Thanks I have removed fuel tank just to make sure I had thought it original had one but some one may have taken out at a later date. Would I be right in thinking all wiring for pump will still be in place and a short on this is causing my fuse to blow

Does the car behave differently when the fuse has blown? If there is no pump, then in theory it should make no difference whether the fuse is intact or not. Could this all just be a non-issue?

But if the fuse blows that just serves the fuel pump (which it seems the car was not fitted with) then I can't see how it would affect the running? Which fuse is blowing? Is it a late model P1 (V70 Classic) or early P2?

Default One problem solved

Ok guys so sorted the fuel pump fuse which kept popping. Fault was with an electrical contact on a part I have no clue as to what it does. Located just behind pump timing belt, there is what looks like a pipe bolted to the block attached to it there is what appears to be 2 glow plug type sensors and a water pipe attached to the rear. My question is what is this as when I waggle the wires not top there was a crackle and the dead short disappeared. But now my engine warning light is lit car drives ok would just like to put this issue to bed once and for all

That is the coolant pre-heater system you found.
