Default 850 tdi woes

P plate tdi, fitted with slightly later V70 lump, Vw unit. Having running issues, keeps rough running and cutting out. changed filter, and pipe from filter down to pump. still no joy. The one thing we have noticed in the clear pipe running over the pump has air bubbles in it, they clear once the engine is tried, but has a long crank. once the engine is stopped the bubbles return. not really up on the fuel system on these, more of a petrol man.. tia

Make sure you are using proper hose clips rather than jubilee tpe as they don't seal well on fuel systems. There is a bit of knowledge on that engine around on the Volkswagen forums. Auto****e had a few rebuilds on it too.

Have you replaced all the copper washers on top of the fuel filter housing?
