Default Interior Door Handle Fix

I have an XC70 which has the problem where the clip on the back of the door card has broken, so the interior door handle doesn't work.

Has anyone on here successfully repaired one of these, or can suggest a way to easily do it?

Any links to articles/Youtube videos gratefully received!

Thanks in advance

Had the same on my o/s/r on my s60, would not open from the inside, little tab/clip busted, used cable ties to hold it together, still holding five years later.

I managed it in the end. The clips that hold the cable break. Found videos on Youtube.

Basically, I got four of the metal 'eyes' with screw threads that you use for net curtain springs.
Drilled four holes (two top, two bottom)in the part the cable carrier sits in using a 1 mm drill bit (use an electric screwdriver, it is gentler than a drill), making sure to drill into both parts.
Then screwed the eyes into the holes, and through into the cable holder.
I did need a small piece of plastic to pad it out as the cable still kept coming out, but that could have been my fault.
