So this is the exact same issue as in the petrol engines, that was communicated in the USA.
The solution is the change of the piston the rings? Or can we survive with the oil consumption?
It is quite strange, because after the oil change it takes 2500 km to ask for 0,5l and after this is asking for 1,5l every 1500km. This is a huge consumption...
After a small research on the internet i just can find one part number for the pistons, and even in the dealer they just can give one solution as spare parts.

Many thanks for your support.

The problem with the diesel oil rings was only found in the England and Irish market for whatever reason. We never had the problem with the petrol engine , buy they are much rarer here of course.

if you bought new pistons they would be the later Improved ones.

Many thanks for your explanation.

Do you think that is possible to survive without piston change?

yes except for oil consumption , you could take the pistons out and clean the grooves , and oil return holes in the ring grooves and fit some new oil rings

In the end the engine should be disassembled always...

whilst you have the pistons out you might as well put the modified ones in .

you should have drained 100ml at a time, the dash gauge is quite sensitive.

when you change the oil and filter put 5 litres in and RESET THE OIL LEVEL GAUGE which is a mandatory part of each service. assuming its the new 2014 onwards 4 cyl VEA 2.0 Diesel engine.
