Default 2011 V60 drive e R design Help needed!!

Hi folks, my lad's V60 has had a new clutch and DM flywheel fitted yesterday at an independent garage, but they couldn't get it to start last night, so they charged the battery overnight, checked the starter motor-all good, but still no joy.
So now the gearbox is back out to check the parts are correct and all seems correct, but the mechanic says he has tried to turn the engine over manually but it is locked solid, seems very strange to me.
Has anyone got any ideas on potential problems? no one has messed with any timing parts so how not sure how the engine could be seized unless something has failed internally, all was running fine before clutch replacement.
Any help much appreciated.

I don’t know if it’s even possible but maybe they bent the crank enough to bind it up, maybe by somehow letting the gearbox hang off it?

Or maybe they have cracked something that’s allowed enough coolant into the intake/exhaust to hydro lock?

Thanks for the reply, been down to garage, gearbox is off the car again, they have removed the sump and it seems everything is ok at that end.
In the morning they are removing the timing cover to check everything is with the belt/chain, fingers crossed.
Mechanic says he's never come across anything like this in25 yrs, I guess we are all going to learn something new soon enough.

Update, they managed to start the engine, so they refitted everything but it keeps seizing up!! I think you maybe right rxtian, that sounds like the crank has been bent somehow.
One of the mechanics told my son that he had taken over the clutch job halfway through, which sounds odd to me, could be that the 1st guy made a mistake when removing the gearbox, but would you be able to bend a crankshaft doing that?
If it is a serious crankshaft issue would the best cause of action be replacement engine rather than a strip down, got to be more cost effective?
Just waiting to hear back from the garage today, but all in all things don’t look great.
Any thoughts welcome

No you cant bend a crankshaft manually when installed in the block . have you seen one?
Have they fitted a correct volvo flywheel? It id fitted correctly for the timing functions ?
I would let them sort it at their expense
