Default Thinking about an 09 xc60, what do I need to know?

I'm contemplating an xc60 to replace my aging v70 and I'm hoping to get a few insights from current / previous owners.

I currently have a 2005 v70 d5 with about 210k miles on the clock. Car still goes well and returns a reliable 47mpg on my commute. I've previously had another v70 d5 which I sold with North of 250k miles, so I'm fairly happy with the d5 engine.

The v70 is getting a bit tatty so it'd be nice to change it. I don't need a 4wd, but I like the idea of having the added capability, so I've been keeping an eye out for xc70s and xc60s.

A 2009 xc60 d5 auto has popped up fairly local to me, 125k miles, auto, se Lux, and I might take a look.

Anything I need to know about these things specifically? Is there a sweet spot year wise, or years to be avoided?

Thanks in advance!

I understand that will be the ‘185’ version of the D5 which is powerful but seems to return much worse mpg (15% in the xc90 over 200BHP xc90).

It also has a few other issues such as swirl flaps.

Why not buy a later 200BHP version which is a little quicker but a lot more efficient?

Actually, it's listed as a 205 variant, is that the twin turbo one?

Here's the ad on gumtree...

Picked this up off the internet, for what it’s worth.

I don't relate to any of that.... I'd ignore it.

Being a 59 plate (i.e. after Sept 2009) it's very likely to be the 2010MY and hence the double blow engine - nice.

SE-Lux gets you nice Xenon headlights as well.

No major weaknesses, just do all the normal used car checks, but do check all electrics (not unreliable but can be costly to fix) and make sure you get a long drive to get the car warm and check for smooth gear changes, especially P to D and R when stationary and setting off after waiting at junctions.

As always - good service history is key but no guarentee...
