Default New member:contemplating an XC60, looking for advice

Hi All, I am a new member. Whilst I have owned alsorts of cars over the years, mainly Range Rover Sports in the last 6-7 years. I am new to the Volvo world and I am contemplating an XC60. Specifically I am looking a 2012 XC60 R Design that has done 60k, one owner, full service history. I have read up and watched a good number of reviews etc. I am hearing EGR issues can be a problem? I do a lot of short journeys and had issues with this on my last Range so that bothers me, thoughts? Auto gear box needs servicing but at what mileage or age though? Cam belt needs changing every 10 years so would be due on the one I am looking if it hasn't been done yet, I am waiting for the seller to come back to me on that. Would really appreciate any thoughts or pointers? Also if worse case the car needed the egr valve changing, cam belt changing and the gear box servicing what kind of cost would you say I am looking at. There a Volvo Specialist near me in Warton, Lancashire called The Corner Garage so I would probably have them do the work as they seem to have a good reputation. Has anyone had any experience of this garage that they could share?
Thanks all.
Mark

EGR tended to be an issue on the first VEA engined cars (MY2015 onwards) but if the recall work has been done it should be fine.

The Volvo DPF system is the best around and on a otherwise healthy car, short journeys are generally not an issue but best to make sure it stretches its legs once a month or two.

A gearbox oil change should be £180-£250, if it's driving okay that's all it needs.

"I do a lot of short journeys" This=Buy a petrol car. Diesels are not suited for this. Even if you get a car without problems you may never get it hot in the wintertime.
