Question Bluetooth Handsfree volume too low

Hi,

I have a 2017 V60 Twin Engine - quite a nice car but the hands-free is almost unusable because the volume is too low.

A quick google tells me that this is not an isolated problem but I haven't been able to find a fix.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Sorry... sounds an obvious question to ask, but do you have the Volume on your phone turned up as high as it will go? You should also be able to adjust the Volume from the car using the Volume dial on the dash or steering wheel?

Kind Regards

Marc

Thanks Marc, but yes I've tried that! Both volume settings on full and it's still too quiet.

The question - what is too quiet? What I might consider acceptable would be too quiet for a club (or some of the boom boxes that drive down the road) and may be too loud for some others.

If you have your Bluetooth set a max volume and the car set at max volume then that is as loud as it gets, though I find a wired connection is sometimes louder.

Well, with both set at max i can hear the call just about OK if the car isnt moving and there's no outside noise. Add in road noise and it's not loud enough to hold a coherent conversation.

Here's the thread on swedespeed where other owners are experiencing the same problem:

Interested in this as my 2016 XC60 (nav/ sensus head unit) is a struggle to hear above 40mph, volume on phone and car at maximum.

Oddly, I use the player radio app through bluetooth - and its loud enough, its just calls.

I had this problem about 12 months ago and it drove me mad. From memory my fix was to increase the volume on my phone but whilst I was making a hands free call. I have an iphone. The fix didnt work if you adjusted the phones volume but werent calling anyone

The volume in the car or the volume at the other end , ie , the person you are talking to cannot hear you well enough?

I had this same issue on my XC60 - until I discovered that the Bluetooth volume on an I-Phone is a different setting that the normal phone volume and can only be adjust whilst you are on a Bluetooth call (as has been said above).

For me I get acceptable volume with the Bluetooth volume on the phone turned to max and the call volume on the car at about 75-80%. I get about the same volume with the same settings in my XC90 which has a Parrot CK3100 fitted.
