Default Confirming what I am looking at

Later this week at the local auction there is a 2014(63) XC60 R Design NAV D4 2 LITRE AUTO up for grabs. Now can I assume this will definitely have the 8 speed box?
Now is shown as R Design NAV what could it be missing over the R Design LUX NAV?
And finally am a wee concerned about it being the R Design model in the first place. I am not bothered about a stiffened suspension better cornering I want a nice comfy ride.

I don’t think it will have the 8 speed box - I think they were introduced in MY15 along with the VEA engine I.e. those cars built after around June 2014 and to have a 63 plate that car is earlier than that (registered jan or feb 2014).

It’s will be missing the best bits - ABL xenon headlights, and the TFT instruments. Plus some other bits… power tailgate maybe.

R Design is stiffer and has bigger wheels with lower profile and more expensive tyres. Whether it’s too stiff is really a matter of personal preference but the standard SE will be comfier….

Right think you have said enough to persuade me not to go for it. Never been a fan of big wheels and less air in the tyres, as I said comfy is my priority as opposed to handling.

Something French and locally repairable sounds like a plan

My 2017 R-Design D5 has the same size wheels & tyres as the 2011 SE Lux D5 it replaced.
