Hi ya ,

I ment the actual welder you weld with plus do you have wire & gas where you are also is it a mig welder if you do have one 😎👍

£45 per billable hour and if I’m travelling then fuel and time used driving , your an hour away from me so hour to you there then same back again .

Failing that if you get the car to me not a problem and with more info on what you would like done even images of areas of concern then I can be more approximate with price and costings

And going on your original price , then your looking for OEM seam like welding so it’s as if it left factory , some folk ask for cheap so cheap is no way the same so prices can differ as I’m sure your aware 👌

Kind regards
Robert.w

Hi, I'm a new member in Calgary Canada with a 69 Amazon 121, originally purchased in Denmark. The car was restored about 15 years ago by the one other owner, but stored outside and in need of care. I am now refurbishing it to be an every day 3 season driver. Could someonme possibly post photos or a sketch of the inner fender liners or "inner wings"? I don't have them and the fenders were internally caked in mud and rusty.
I would like to find or make a set, or possibly modify a set from a 240 that a friend has.
Thanks,
Charlie

Fender liners and inner wings are 2 different things. Amazons didn’t come with front fender liners, they are, or were available aftermarket. Inner wings are part of the unitized body that forms upright part of the engine bay on either side and the outer wings bolt on to at the top. Yes, lots of mud and crap collects under there, contributing to the rust and corrosion of the outer wing, or fender as it’s called in N.America.

Thanks for the clarification on the definition of inner wing. So the upper part of the inner wing is aqjacento to the engine compartment, correct?

So what I am looking for is a sketch of the front fender liner to help reduce the crud and associated rust in the fender, or outer wing.
Thanks,
Charlie

Perhaps something got lost in translation there... we are talking about front wheel arch liners I think.

Volvo didn't provide them on the Amazon, but it did on the 240 (and probably 740/940), so why not adapt two of those to fit? I have just measured the front wheel arch on my 244 (1980) and it is 39cm, I've also done the same on my 122S (1963) and found it to be 39cm. So - not all that far apart (in a dim light, with one eye closed and the other blinking fast).

I did something similar on the Royal Barge (the 1980 244) and fitted some rear wheel arch liners from a 940 that fitted tolerably well (after a bit of work with the heat gun, riveter and some brute force and ignorance):

... you will be able to pick to pick up some plastic front arch liners for a 240/740/940 cheaply; why not have a go?

Alan

Yes, the upper part of the inner wing is adjacent to the engine compartment.

I think these are what you’re looking for.

Here’s a thread discussion on liners.

Thanks Othen and C1800. A friend has a set from a 240 and I need to get over to his place to check them.

C1800, those links are good. I see that you are in Alberta. I'm in Calgary. Where are you?

Thanks,

Charlie
