( always good to get the whole cars software updated if it has been neglected for a few years )

Software updates are free with a volvo SELEKT used car and at every approved volvo service.

at 51000 miles it would be good to have the gearbox oil changed , if you are keeping it , otherwise it will go well over 100,000 when it ought to be changed . There is no auto gearbox service oil change specified by volvo unless you are doing " arduous" Journeys or taxi work . in which case it is every 36000 miles .

Thanks for all your advice....
We are test driving later , but the garage, Bristol st motors, have just said the service history is only up to 23k miles.. so we are a bit unsure..it would need a good service and check over..

5-cylinder 136hp engine, face-lifted shape.

Nice engine in the nicer-looking body.

Not so sure about the service history.

Bristol st motors never delivered the car for viewing and are arguing about how presentable a car if this age should be . So now looking elsewhere..
Still a v60 but want FSH and lowish miles.

Have seen one on line but it's in Kent area and we're Midlands...

This is the Law of Sod in operation. Found the same problem late '21/early'22 when anything that looked a 'possible' was miles away.

I always travel pretty much anywhere for the car I want. It can be part of the fun.

In this day and age it's also easy to make decisions remotely and leave holding deposits etc.

Just don't take a train during a rail strike

I know the feeling. Last month I did a 4 hour round trip for an elderly relative to look at a car that 'looked' ideal for them, but the timing chain was rattling on start up.

Walked away and the next day one came up for sale within 30 mins of me, so I reserved that one on line without any obligatiion.
