When I was looking for a XC60 found one not far from Manchester (I live just outside of Plymouth Devon) good spec and reasonable price. As it was quite a distance I asked if I could leave a deposit as I couldn't get up until the Sunday but was told no that I would have to phone to make sure it was still available on the Saturday.
On the Friday night another XC60 came onto the market just 20 miles from the first one that was slightly better spec but a year younger and 20,000 less miles but was Ģ1000 more. Thought we would look at both as being up there only made it to see the more expensive as we bought that one mainly because the better spec etc but also they did say as I was travelling so far they would keep it for me until the Sunday

Well after a steady 2hr 20mins drive to Kent from Derby, we found the car as advertised, if not better. We found the dealer to be honest and obliging..did a deal and drove it home..although 1hr 30 to get through the Dartford tunnel and get fuel was a joke... But once on the motorway a pure pleasure to drive,( apparently as it's my son in laws car..
Thank for the advice..
Now over to me to on detail it..😃😃..

Oh I've done it, believe me, and seen plenty of sheds, which is why I try and avoid too much of a trek these days. Our V70 was 75 miles away which was perfectly doable, but still effectively took a day I could ill afford. I prefer the '30 minutes away' ones like you found - especially with diesel at around Ģ8.60 a gallon.
