I found the easiest way to remove these is with one side of the vehicle lifted. And an impact to remove the one from the strut, I got lucky by cleaning the threads up on the lower and that came off with the impact and light tension on the linkage.
On the other side, not so. I popped the link off the plastic ball and had to use grips to hold the ball while using the impact gun. I only had to swear once because its a 10 meter walk to my shed!
