Default Front vacuum engine mounting

S80 D5 front vacuum engine mounting, trying to change it took the nut off the top and the bolt from the bottom, put jack under engine but it did not budge it just jacks the car up at all what am I missing?

You need to take the two bolts out of the engine mount under the crank pulley and the two bolts from the gearbox torque mount as well

Cheers Dan, I had taken the gearbox one of by the front cross member where the mounting is , do I need to take the left hand side Wheel off or can we get it from underneath the car ?

Also you might need to loosen the brace across the top of the engine before jacking the engine - just take off the 2 bolts both sides by the strut-top mounting.

To Dan and John thank you for your advice, I found it easy after I took the weight off it and removed the engine mounting bracket, only 3 bolts came off in minutes because I could not get the clearance I wanted to remove the vacuum mounting, it was easy after that

I have to do this job soon on my XC70... so quite glad I read this thread!

New discs and pads this weekend first though.

Not got round to doing them yet as I've been very busy with work...

The Haynes manual only suggests top cross member mountings, Turbo pipe that goes underneath and gearbox torque mounting. No need to remove other bits. Jack the engine up until you have sufficient clearance then slide the new one in.
