Front light cluster not working - help
Hi,
The side light bulb blew in my front left light cluster a few weeks back. Then last night the dim bulb blew. So as per every 6 months, I changed to the bulb. However much to my surprise this didn't fix the issue and Ive just noticed the left indicator / full beam also doesn't work so no bulb in the cluster works at all. I assume the fuses are ok as there is no fuse (that Im aware of) that controls each light cluster... Any ideas what this could be? Thanks |

UPDATE: All very strange but I pulled out the headlamp cluster on the other side to ensure Id put the wiring looms in properly and the indicator then stopped working. Frustrated, I put everything back (including the metal "stakes" that pin the cluster in place), so that I could read the instrument panel warnings. Obviously with the bonnet up, it just tells me the bonnet is up without providing any more info. Then with everything back in situ and the bonnet down, miraculously everything then worked on both side. I'm confused but relieved. Does putting the metal stakes back in and bonnet down somehow complete the circuit?
Thanks |

The stakes don't do anything. I've suffered the same as you, it's just been the connection from connection to headlight.
In the end, I just turned off DRL via vdash and bought a set of nightbreakers. Same headlamps for 2 years in a row now! |

DRL, Daytime running lights. Headlights on all the time.
Vdash is a non volvo application a user can make changes to parameters on their cars. Vida is the official volvo application. Osram nightbreakers are probably the best of the halogen headlights available out on the market. |
