Other S80 Problem: - Have "Start prevented try again" on dash

Hi all need your help again have the above coming up

I have had this message coming up quite a few times and apparently it is the antenea ring around the ignition key slot on starting the car-microchip things in there, i have just switched the thing off , then tried again and it starts, so not an immediate, imergency problem.

New key battery (Duracell) is the start point before you go spending on diagnostics, always rule that one out first, if that doesn't work look up how to program the fob and do that next, it's possible a dying battery has lost comms with the car,

If no joy then your going to have to go in deeper and what sv said would be the next place to suspect.

On my key you need to cut it open is that correct? I brought a new key fob because mine does not flip open the key part, both keys will lock and open the car from about 8 mtr so seems that it should be OK could it be the antenna ring ?

Just changed my Antenna Ring for a second hand one and still have the same "Start Prevention try again" any ideas ?

charge the car battery / make sure its good. leave the car on pos 2 for ten minutes. done.
