Default Cabin Pre-Cool?

Was in the garden earlier and could hear the fan going on the car. Thought it odd as although I had driven the car earlier, had been home for a couple of hours.

Went out to check it out and to my surprise, it was the blowers cooling the cabin. Unlocked the car and turned on the ignition, then turned it back off and locked the car again. About 30 seconds later the blowers stopped.

Never used the pre-cool function before and it wasn’t enabled via the app.

Any ideas?

IIRC mine used to fire up the engine if commanded by the app, are you sure it wasn't just still cooling the engine, I nearly took mine back when I first got it as the bonnet and wings were getting incredibly hot imo, 2 x turbo's and possibly a regen just before stopping, I never did detect mine doing a regen so this is a possibility unless you opened the fridge door and inside was "bloomin loovlay" as they say in Brum.

Yes I’m sure. I’m no Volvo tech but even I can tell the difference between air coming out of the dashboard vents and the fan under the bonnet running.

Think that something similar happens with my V90 Recharge. During the recent very hot weather while working in the garden I could hear blowers running on the car even though I'd not used it for more than 24 hours. What I didn't check at the time was whether the cabin was being cooled.

When I next drove the car a couple of days later I noticed that the estimated battery range had dropped from 45 (typical full charge) to 41 (IIRC). At the time I nearly posted here to ask if anyone else had seen this - but as it's been raised I though that I'd add my three-pennyworth.

If it's something that's controllable I'd welcome knowing what's going on and if it can be benefically used.
