PCV - Whats it all about?
Having recently bought my first Volvo, a V70 classic 2.5T with 126K, ive heard a lot about this PCV thingie but dont know a thing about it.
So can anyone enlighten me on what it is, when it needs changing/replacing etc?

Ay up S. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I get this slightly wrong. They usually do. Here goes. PCV; positive crankcase ventilation. afaik as opposed to crankcase ventilation, pcv uses the vacuum on the inlet to basically drag the excess vapours from the crankcase. When your pcv clogs up( flame trap, oil separator, hoses) it creates excess pressure in the crankcase and can cause your crank and camshaft seals to leak as there is nowhere for the vapours to go hth. Steps like the colour and the dark wheels. Smart
