Default MY 09 V70 R design - two niggles

Hi there, does anyone else have the recent styled Volvo V70.

Our's has been back to the garage once already because of a really annoying noise from the boot area, which they identified as a palte on the door latch working loose - they fixed it, which was fine for a week or two, but now the noise is back and needs fixed again.

Also, we get a fair amount of heat on our steering wheel, under the cruise control and stereo control buttons - not a huge amount, but almost as if it was intentionally a heated wheel.

Has anyone else had the same things?

Ta

We've had no problems with ours. No squeaks or hot steering wheels. The only fault is the ridiculous fuel consumption of our 2.4d 163 manual. 26 mpg around town and 38 mpg 6th gear flat motorway not exceeding 70 mph.

Oh and after having it 5 months the lights still drive me mad. Of for on, on for off.......

Ive a month old R design and not had either of those problems

noticed though as days getting hotter the crappy fan system they have, if you set heat to low it wont keep the car cool even with an outside temp of 21 and very noisy fan system ( air con will have to be used)

Im off tomorrow on a 300 mile trip and will play with the steering wheel see if i notice a hot spot

Certainly noticed the heat build up around the steering wheel mounted cruise and audio buttons on the 2.0 SE Lux demonstrator I had for three days. While it was noticeable I didn't consider it a problem, I didn't think it was uncomfortable.

The steering wheel does get a little warm under the cruise and audio buttons but it's not a problem and, tbh, is quite nice in the winter when you're freezing cold!
With regards to the noisy fan on manual heating, I don't know because the climate control is permanently left on. I see no point in turning it off.

Hope this helps.
