V40 D2 2013 main battery
My stop Start recently dropped out due to battery charging message. I have charged the battery and all OK now. However I was wondering about replacing the main battery but read on line (fake news?) that after installing a new battery there is a risk at first turn on (do not sit in car) that air bags may deploy which I find unlikely.
Is this for real? Has anybody changed their main battery? |

Which is why Volvo have a clear process on how to disconnect and reconnect the battery. Check with VIDA, but generally it is: 1. With battery disconnected, turn ignition to position II (Engine On position) 2. Ensure no persons or objects are on any seats (to ensure that seat occupancy sensors show the seat is empty, thus reducing the risk of airbag deployment even further) 3. Connect the battery, ensuring correct polarity Having the ignition to ON means that a battery load exists immediately, and reduces the risk of voltage spikes and surges, which reduces the risk of airbag activation.
