Flickering tail lights & faulty indicators
I have recently taken on a 2004 V70 AWD from a friend, it came with a few electrical glitches that I am being challenged with. I would really appreciate being pointed in the right direction to fault finding the electrical faults, as auto electricians in the Highlands of Scotland seem a rare and retiring breed.
Firstly and most challenging is the fact that the indicators do not indicate, and I have been using the hazard warning lights when turning for a few months now, while trying to find auto electricians and consult the Haynes manual myself. Secondly the windscreen washers do not squirt water out, and the rear windscreen wiper does not function at all. Also the electric key locks do not function, and it's not the battery in the key fob. The rear windows don't work either. So I don't lock the car at all! So could all these electrical faults be on one faulty circuit? Are there any electrical geniuses out there on the forum who have also experienced the complicated nature of the V70's electrics? I have checked bulbs, fuses, the battery and earth connectors on the battery. Seems that it is beyond that, an unknown fault. Maybe somebody knows of reputable auto electrician in the North of Scotland, or even central belt area that could help me out. Best wishes and thanks for reading. Happy motoring! |

I'd suggest obtaining the wiring diagrams:
http://www.volvowiringdiagrams.com/?...ing%20Diagrams You need the ones for the correct model year which is often the year following manufacture so yours maybe a 2005 model year car. Quite honestly with so many faults it's possible that one of the control modules is damaged, has water entered the car? http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...ight=cem+water You could try disconnecting the battery for 1/2 hour to try and reset things. Volvo suggest you reconnect the battery with the ignition at position II. |
