Default V50 Climate - Hot one side / Cold Other

Hi,

I've only just noticed as Autumn is Kicking in but my V50 (07) will only blow Hot on One side
Passenger Side - properly responds to heat control
Drivers Side - remains cold all the time

Some blogs have suggested turning fan full on & Temp Low - leave for 20 Secs or so then Turn Temp High (again with full fan) for a further 20 secs in the hope that this will reset the Dampers. But this has not worked.

Any ideas what the problem could be ?
Could a computer reset fix it ?
Is this a something an amateur like me could do ?
What kit would I need to do it ?

Some comments suggest the Dash needs to be removed - I familiar with removing the radio (having done this) - is dash removal a more involved job ?

Winter is approaching so I'm thinking I need to resolve soon and don't like the prospect of a £300+ dealer bill

Thanks

if Alfadave11's advice doesn't take, DiCE ? VIDA will give info on what is not operating. The duct shutters are computer-controlled electrical servos, and the servo's may need intervention...

Had this problem on our V50, took it to dealer and he reported leak in condensor which was replaced under warranty (it was a common fault). Fault has not returned in last four years. Not sure if the climate control computer can detect reduced cooling and shut down part of the system, but I'm sure someone knows.

There are other posts about this. Mine had the problem, it was resolved by winding the temperature to max and then to min and back to max or similar. The system had gone out of calibration and needed recalibrating. Not sure if this is your problem.

Have you tried putting the temp to full low on one side and full hi on the other, followed by swapping the sides round and repeating? Assuming you have dual zone climate, that is?

I go through a process of manually moving through the air flow settings and temp settings in an attempt to keep the dampers moving and free. So, fan on, start with air flow at feet, move from feet to face vents, from face vents to screen, from screen back to feet. Repeat a couple of times. Same with the temp controls - full hi on both sides, to full low. Then full high left, full lo right and vice versa.
I used to do this on my MGZT which were known for the dampers seizing up. Maybe it will help, maybe not!
