FS: 850/x70 phase 1 AWD M58L manual gearbox & bevel
Its been a while since I was here, but many years ago I had an auto phase 1 V70R that I was going to convert to manual. I bought a good manual gearbox and bevel box but never got around to doing the conversion, so these have been in my garage ever since.
I've offered them for sale many times without any interest which is a shame because these must be getting very scarce now. They are getting in the way, so they've now been moved outside. I'm open to offers, but they'll need to go soon - if there is no interest this time they'll go to the scrap yard. They came off an early V70 which had done only 81k miles according to the seller - original sales description - "This is a Very Rare Angle Transfer Box which was mated to a M58L Manual Gearbox from a 1997 V70 AWD Turbo. Item numbers can be read from the pictures. The car, which had 81k on the speedo, drove without noise from the gearbox and the gear change was smooth." I've hung onto these for so long as I know how rare they are and wanted to help keep an AWD on the road, but after so many years, the time has come for them to go one way or another. Due to size/weight these are collection only from Doncaster, South Yorkshire - I'm 2 mins off the A1 J36. If you're interested drop me a line asap as the wife is complaining about the place looking like a scrapyard, so they'll be scrapped on Sunday unless someone shouts up. Cheers RT NB pics are from the original sales advert, the boxes now how the usual white fur due to being stored for a long time. They'll clean up fine though. I've never fitted/run them so can't comment of how good/bad they are. They look ok, as does the bevel splines, but it'd be safe to assume they *may* need some work.

My understanding is that the M58 is the AWD version of the M56 which your FWD will have fitted.
The gear ratios may be slightly different, but it should be the same gearbox as in the V70R, just that it has the bevel box output. However, many people have removed the bevel box and propshaft in AWD versions when the bevel box failed, and run them as FWD cars.
