Was working on the car again today, today's task is to clean up the surfaces ready to put back together.

Me too Mark! Had a few over the years, Datsun, Rover, BMW (Never again! ), Vauxhall, Jaguar and possibly a couple of others but i prefer a 90 degree V6 these days. Got a distinctive growl that turns to a howl as the revs climb under power...........

Don't wan't to go off thread but three of the most trouble free cars I've ever had were all BMW straight sixes. Two 320i's and a 1987 525i

I had two S reg 728s Mark and they both blew their head gaskets. After sorting one it didn't last long until something else went wrong (can't remember what now, scrapped it and bought something else!
