Rear passenger window showing orange strip (open) in app
Hi all,
Has anybody else started to experience the Volvo App saying the windows are open when they aren't? Image attached. I went out and checked and manually drove them fully home with the switches but it remains the same. Any ideas?

I have seen this before, with poor mobile signal where the car is parked, try driving it to a public location, get out, lock it, check the app. I've bet it updates

Sure enough, my wife drove to town, came back, and now it's disappeared! Not sure why it would need to move, unless that's a red herring as we have good mobile reception near us and Sensus was displaying full mobile signal. The app updated a couple of days ago so I wonder if it's the inevitable bugs starting to show themselves.

I tested this using LTE signal analysis and mobile boosters, and found a network outage on Vodafone was causing my car to show as unlocked when it was locked. Took me months to get to know it's behaviours. Glad it's resolved, don't worry and enjoy it! |

The 'Lack of Signal' is something that is not fully understood or explained.
Early in the life of my V90 I had left it loaded with all our holiday cases and walked into town about a mile away. While we were eating breakfast the Apple iPhone popped up a message saying the car was unlocked. So breakfast was abandoned and we ran back the mile to the car. And found it locked! The sequence of events included a period of loading the car and it was unlocked during this period. But in a poor signal area the car did not deliver the message to the iPhone App until an hour later. One of the bags had the passports in it so our stress levels were quite high!

When the message came up on the app I ran like Forrest Gump back to the car only to find it still locked which was both a relief and extremely infuriating! What I'd love to know is how is the car polled? Opening the app forces an update, but the fact you get messages when not using the app clearly indicates the cloud server is polling the car or the car is polling the server, but either way it should be sending live current updates, not updates from potentially hours ago and when it does update, why send old data and not the most current as in the situations we experienced?

It's not just Volvo. My wife went into town last week with our daughter, left the car (KIA eSoul) at P+R and took the tram into town.
I started getting messages saying the car was unlocked. Checked with my wife and daughter, who were still in town, sent message from the app to lock the car which was successful then the app did not update and still showed the car as unlocked. My Ford, if I deadlock it using the keyfob then try to lock it from the app reports it can't lock the car. Rather than show the car as locked or deadlocked is says door locking failed.

Try letting your windows down then up again and reset the stops.

That issue with your Ford would do my nut in. I assume it's the same on all modern Fords or do you seem to be an isolated case?
