New brake pads
Iam sure that this has been discussed many times before, Iam in need of brake pads all-round and was wondering what people would recommend,
I was thinking of keeping the standard discs so whats the best pads, I heard that police spec pads are better and good value although they create a fair ammount of dust, has anyone got the police spec pads fitted that they can give me a report on, i am not bothered about the dust as I wash the car reguarly, or any other pads that are better over standard, im not talking about fitting massive brakes Brembo discs or the like, just something a bit better than the norm, also where could I get the police pads? Thanks in advance Ste

I'll be fitting Police spec pads shortly - if you treat your wheels with a good sealant (see my previous post on Planet Polish Wheel Seal & Shine), then the dust will rinse off - particularly if you wash the car weekly
Pagid make the the OEM Volvo pads so don't be put off by the brand - they're quite cheap through GSF. I've previously used Mintex pads which are excellent but very expensive. They do make a difference but maybe not enough to justify the double OEM price tag...

Gizza job - I can do that

I've used EBC redstuff and I was so (un)impressed I gave them away.
I now have Ferodo DS2500 up front and they seem to be pretty good. From what everyone says I think that the standard (or police spec) pads from Rufe will be your best bet unless you want to spend over £100 on a set of pads (like Carbotech for example).

70 notes for a set of pads?
they must be good, I had a set of pads in my Alfa cant remember what they were but when they were cold they were no good but once hot they were the bits, really good, I think i gonna go for the police spec pads, but they only do them for the front so maybe Mintex for the rear
