Default Possible cambelt needed

Hi,
Just about to look at 2010 XC90 with 70k on the clock, full Volvo history first thing in the morning. The dealer days it doesn’t need a cambelt change until 90k but the car is 10 years old, so it basically needs one?
The car is up for £9,500 so I could possibly see if the price could be adjusted for need for a belt change?

Thanks in advance.

108k or 8 years, whichever comes first.

Having essential programmed maintenance 2 years over due doesn't indicate a car that's been lavished with love and care.

According to this, both Cam belt and Aux belt and tensioners/idlers should be changed at 10 years not 8

Cheers

I was going by my 2009 owners manual - Volvos official line may have changed since then for the 185.

NO worries DD

I actually looked in my (2011 200hp engine) owners' manual but couldn't find mention of it - what page did you find it on?

Cheers

Could be some negotiation indeed. I doubt they will be willing to do the belt prior to the sale, but worth lowering the price. 10 years doesn't mean 'it's urgent' since the mileage is not there yet, but you should think of replacing it within the next year or so - use only quality brand like Continental, and I believe usually the pump doesn't need replaced at this time
