To keep updated, for those that are interested, have a similar issue or can shed any more light...

- The broken hose from crank case to oil trap pictured above has now been replaced - thanks Stuart for pointing me in the right direction here. Sadly did not resolve, but had completely broken down so worth replacing regardless.

- Took car to be smoke tested (or more accurately, undergo a "stage 1 diagnosis") by a local diagnostic specialist. Also plugged into VIDA at the same time. Split hose found downstream of MAF, no leaks found after this. Was hopeful this would resolve, but sadly usual symptoms were back within 15 miles.

- Went back to same specialist plugged the MAF into an oscilliscope. Readings were confirmed to be slightly low so replaced with a new Bosch unit today. Unfortunately another false dawn, still no improvement to symptoms. Purge valve system also checked but seemed to be ok.

Pending another trip back to the specialist, I'm really at a bit of a loss. Nothing has cost a huge amount so far, but seems as though I'm going down the path of throwing parts at it (plus the cost of diagnostics) which I really didn't want to do.

The next logical step will be throttle body or PCV. Both are a pain to access under the inlet manifold so I would expect it makes sense to replace both at the same time. Problem being, a genuine Bosch TB plus PCV system will be £300+ before fitting... potentially a few hundred quid down the drain with no guarantee of repair.

Any ideas before I do this?

As a secondary question, assuming I do replace, are the following parts correct?:

Breather pipes - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284553491...YAAOSwAuNW4VkM

Oil trap - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363528374...sAAOSw41xXPZ8O

Thanks if you're still reading!
