Someone has commented the below on my youtube video;

Pretty certain this is the 'original' seatbelt warning - my 2017 XC90 was last serviced by Offical Volvo dealer in Jan 2021 - this is how mine sounds!
Mine was serviced late July 21. I have noticed no difference in the chime. It sounds as it always has.

So there are a few possibilities here:-

1. I am tone deaf
2. The sound hasn't actually changed in the latest update
3. The dealer didn't update my software (although I did notice some other changes)
4. The sound change is so subtle as to be imperceptible, or is a tiny change such as timing, or when it cuts from basic to insistent.

My money is on 2 or 4.

But seeing as this is actually about trying to prove that software was not updated on the OP's car I really think you are barking up the wrong tree.

I would look for another change and see if it was applied.

I noticed in the last update a couple of things:-

Power mode now makes the steering heavier
There is a funny car occupied seats and belts symbol which now occasionally occupies the area of the external temp display at the top of the instrument display.

Perhaps look for one of these changes?
