Default Faulty Starter?

My starter has been acting up for a long time now, but today it was the first time it didn't start in a few seconds of cranking and I had to crank it twice.
The noise is like a screeching/grinding while I cranck and stays for a second or 2 after starting.

Should I replace with a new part, used or refurbish?

I’ve just put my spare starter on.

Bought this yesterday to put in stock. Bought from this guy before.

Those starters are not the best, always sound terrible Its like a oversized wiper motor.. Get an older one from a 240 or earlier 740 they last forever, they are bigger and heavier.
