I remember reading somewhere that the microphone design changed significantly with the 'P2.5' facelift for MY05. The newer cars have a noise-cancelling microphone design apparently. Mine's a MY06 and I've never had complaints from the other party whilst using my PHM in hands-free mode, even on the motorway. |

My micro sounds good too, no one has ever complain, it's a MY05, and as I read in the web, I remove it from his embedded location in the rear view mirror, leaving it loose to improve the sound

Just one question: do the updates have to be loaded all by their order or just the last one?

regarding sound quality: try to change microphone volume (in the Bluetooth module settings menu). if your voice on the second side is quiet, try to set higher value. if there are strange sounds try to set lower value. i have no problem with voice quality. and when my wife calls me from the car, it's better then with original modem.

some fixes.
v2017-03-02_1 Fixed: - Bluetooth: The last connected device was not stored properly. - Bluetooth: Some updates regarding device connection. If you connect cellphone as a second device then some of them tries continuously connect also the Hands-Free mode. So it can cause audio dropouts. recomended: after the standard update is recomended to update the boot loader also ("boot_loader.btb" file, is part of the package). do not use update mode for the upload so wait until the phonebook is read and then just send this file (nothing before). maybe it can help with some cellphones (mostly samsungs). now if you have a samsung cellphone you can test it by sending "btphone_tst.btb" (also without update mode activation). not tested but i hope it can help.

Feature request:
Activation of Siri via steering wheel controls. Would this be possible? I know Siri can be activated by, for example, pressing the "answer" button on a generic Bluetooth earpiece, so sending the correct message to the phone should be easy. Could this be programmed to happen when dialling a specific number? Maybe have a "Siri" contact saved in the PHM phonebook and set to speed-dial? |

Further On-Call investigation:
I did some experimentation after reading that the PHM has its own internal SIM for use with On-Call exclusively. I didn't believe this at first, so took out the SIM holder along with my SIM and pressed the On Call button. To my surprise, the car successfully called the On Call service centre and the woman on the end of the phone gave me the correct current GPS location of the car. Even more surprising is when I asked her to read out the phone number that the call was originating from, she gave me a +46 prefixed Swedish number. So, given that On Call works without a SIM in the PHM slot does anyone know: 1. If the On Call system has its own separate GSM modem along with its internal SIM; 2. Where this SIM is located within the car; 3. If On Call will still work with this Bluetooth modem replacement fitted? There are some images of a disassembled PHM here: http://www.svxc.se/phpBB2/viewtopic....3ae6f&start=60 |

if there is an ericsson modem then it's inside. it has an internal slot for the SIM card (under a cover) and also you can use an external SIM via the main connector. via at command you can manage both.

Thanks for the photo, looks like On Call won't work at all once the modem is replaced.
Any opinions on the Siri feature request? |
