Performance discs for sale
A mate of mine in the engineering business has just started to do some performance discs for all types of cars.No exact price at mo as different discs have different prices but if you are interested drop me a mail and i will see what he can do them for.
He can also write almost anything on the discs that you possible want. I know he would do a group buy discount on these if needed. Cheers Andru Last edited by Andru; Sep 22nd, 2008 at 13:15. Reason: Adding Photos and editing text |

I'd be interested to hear more about them. I'm not sure I would be happy buying discs from a guy that knocks them out in his spare time at work, so a bit more on the manufacturer would be nice. Mine get hammered on the road and even more so on track, so it's been nice having the confidence offered by buying discs from EBC or Tarox, to name but two.
Could you perhaps encourage him to sign up to the forums and maybe be prepared to answer questions on them? |

Discs in pictures look nice enough but abit worrying as manufacturers(spelling?) get their products tested before allowing the general public access to them.Being brakes and a vital part of the car I would be very cautious using something like that on any car.

I understand your concerns but i do know that he only use "Branded" disc in his workplace.
He can do this to standard disc as well as aftermarket discs. I will mention to him tomorrow about signing up to the forums. But if you want to mail him any question go here phillip.hooper@btconnect.com Cheers |

Shame he appears to have "borrowed" the idea from someone else,
http://www.rotordiscs.com/ I do hope they haven't patented the design....

Aren't disks designed to fit the pads, or vice-versa? By taking out the circumference, surely you are reducing the amount of metal that the pad contacts, resulting in uneven wear of the pad and reduced braking efficiency?

Gizza job - I can do that
|
What about if, say, I was to provide a set of standard volvo discs - could he just add grooves/dimples?
I'm not too interested in the wavy stuff, but this *might* be a more cost effective way to get grooved discs.....

I just spoke to him and he charges £15 per disc for dimpled and grooved in the above design.
You would have to pay the P&P both ways. |

So for £15, he will add grooves/dimples to a standard round disc? Sorry to sound thick but you mention 'the above design', which assuming you refer to the cake cut-out idea, I wouldn't likely need doing on mine.
