Some Googling lead me to this breaker in somewhere....

http://no.bildelsbasen.se/?link=item&post_id=22933392

And that's the same as mine. 2.5TDi manual and part number: P9463759

However, going back a step to this page...

http://no.bildelsbasen.se/?link=list...&query=9463759

It would seem the same part number is listed and seems to say it also suits the B5254T and the B5234T3 engines.

It's also listing a 9463759 shaft (minus the P) but I don't know what relevance the 'P' is!

Any thoughts?

I'm off on one here...!

However, broken Swedish translation would suggest that this...

http://en.bildelsbasen.se/?index=def...st_id=21306806

Also has the same part number and a C70 T5 will be a damn sight easier to find than a 2.5TDi in a breakers?

Or am I waaaaay off the mark here!

More searching would confirm what 960kg is saying...

A 2.3 T5, 2.5T and 2.5TDi all appear to share the same common driveshaft.

I think...

C70 turbo is the same number.

From Volvo you can only get the whole shaft complete but you can get seperate gaiters.

Pretty sure there's a couple of C70's in a breakers local to me, so fingers crossed...

The odd thing is, this shaft looks fairly recent... it's certainly not the original so the fact the inner CV collapsed is an odd one. I levered the inner CV out the box about 5mm to clear the clip, then pulled it towards me to pull if clear. That's when the CV ball dislodged and dropped out the cage, inside the CV boot - which to my mind, shouldn't happen as the CV should fall apart unless the cage is angled and the balls are manipulated out.

When I rebuilt the inner CV, it was very very notchy when 'off centre' and whilst I appreciate the inner CV is never subject to as extreme nagles as they outer CV, in my mind there's something not quite right. The cage looks fine, the balls look fine but the cast bit that goes on the driveshaft (dunno what the technical term is) looks badly scored, ie where the balls run in the channel. Soooo, whether there's been an underlying issue or whether it's just bad luck - I don't know.

Either way, the shaft and outer CV are fine but the inner CV splines are the issue but that's my fault as I got a bit heavy handed with a hammer when I was knocking it back onto the shaft. Note to self: Use a rubber faced mallet in future.

Headed to the breakers soon for a look but to the chap who offered to have a look in the garage, that'd be appreciated chap as my breaker has mostly bomb the base 10v models so a T5, 2.5T or TDi is pretty much nigh on impossible to find.

Cheers

I have about 10 driveshafts but hopefully one of the inner cv's will match yours

That'd be much appreciated chap. It seems that the 2.3 T5, 2.5T and TDi all share the same common part number.

I've just checked what I have here in terms of splines:

Inner CV to gearbox = 26 splines
Inner CV to driveshaft = 28 splines
Overall height/length of inner CV = 145mm
Overall diameter at widest point = 92mm

Cheers

All sorted... perhaps!

Managed to source a 2.4 non-turbo driveshaft so fingers crossed it works.

And on that note... time to dig out the spanners.
