Default wiper motors

my front wiper motor has died iv also got another one which has stopped in garage has anyone manage to repair one by taking it apart don't want to start without a bit of advice first

This happened to me a few years ago they would just stop completely..What i did was to remove one of the motor screws and remove a little plate/washer..(I"ll have a look tomorrow to make sure) This gave an entry point to the motor and i soaked the armature with brake cleaner spray..(nothing oily as this will ruin the brushes..brake disc cleaner spray is so pure that it dries very quickly..to cut a long story short it worked a treat and been fine ever since..you may want to try this on the motor that you have lying around..regards hj.

I've heard of the magnets inside the motors falling off as the glue holding them can fail. Regluing them can fix them if that's the fault.

I also have a non-working motor kicking around the garage, if anyone wants it for £15 posted to try fixing!
