I used a cable tie over the inner boot seal on the rack as the boot clicks into place over a lip first so water ingress isn't possible if you use a strong, wide, quality cable tie.
Spring clamp only though on the boot outer as that is the only thing keeping moisture out. 4 years on and the inner is still bone dry and the rack performs as new.

The volvo dealer parts department , it is not straight forward you need a few additional parts to go with it depending on chassis number etc there are multiple supersessions , let the experts choose it for you who have the exact car details on hand !

Got one with my specific part number from ebay for £75, there were others with different part numbers for about £40. It cost £185 for my local garage to fit. I tried the Lucas PS Stop leak which didn't help, my leak was really heavy. Car came back with the clock needing to be reset and a low beam headlight bulb had blown, would the garage have needed to disconnect the battery?

If that's been done well, and aligned too then bargain of the year IMO. I can see me doing this job myself in the future too but might ask a couple of local places for a quote first in case I can save a day of lying upside down swearing..
