Default questions help.

2004 XC70 D5 awd.

Well today i finish the adventure, of replacing both the radiator and the inter cooler. Like SiRobb said taking them down is much easier than up. SO all is in place. i fill it up with coolant start the engine on hot with the heating system. Got to the middle and stayed there. No leaks of coolant or oil from gearbox.

Now the questions.....
When i start the car the cooling fan was working in a lower speed...is that normal? Honestly i never noticed that.....

I put the heater on hot..but not much heat came out, with and with out ac.....

Tell me if there is something wrong

Many Thanks.

First of all, check both heater coolant pipes at the back of the engine bay get equally too hot to hold.

Bear in mind that if you have your Air Con switched on the fan will run at. It could be that?

Today i started the car. so i could go for a drive. Well it started fine....still whistle.....then i stopped and when i go again there was a small bum!! engine service required show. and the car doesn't go well it goes and stop goes and stop there isn't a continuous acceleration. it goes and cuts goes and cuts. and there is more whistling... im going to connect vida to see what it says

I have changed the inter cooler radiator so far no leaks. egr valve. If the car is on idle works fine... More whistling sound could be the hard pipe i replaced??

ecm-9210 cruise control....always worked

Latest update.

If i unplug the MAF the car runs but whistle is still there. and the turbo i guess doesn't punch ..i guess...maybe in limp mode.
And of course the engine service required is still there but not check engine light ....
The 2 tubes behind the engine get HOT.

Is it the MAF and the ``new`` hard pipe???

Hello. Good News.

In fact the small bum I heard was the pipe from the inter cooler to the hard turbo pipe coming off.
After i reconnected there was no more go and cut go and cut even with maf connected. after a drive the car was at temp and fan came on. the two pipes behind the engine were hot. But i guess still wasn't blowing Hot hair more warm than hot.

Connected to vida and the codes were.

CCM-0021 Air Quality sensor Internal Fault
CEM-1A59 Communication with AUM control module signal missing (i have an after market nav system, so its been there)
ECM-9210 Cruise Control-Faulty signal

At least the long time code i had (ECM-6805 Boost pressure control - faulty flow ) Doesn't come up anymore.

I already had to had a bit of coolant mix because the level was low. Now is top up.

I hope this episode is done.

Once again Many Thanks to all of you.

If you have a facelift model, unplug the air quality sensor as a faulty one can affect the LINbus signal in the climate module and produce strange behaviour.
Then run a CCM calibration with Vida.

Hello.
Mine is not a face lift one...My clima control works ok, ice cold, but it could be a bit warmer, but i guess it will get there.
IS there any maintenance we could do to those sensors like cleaning it? Is there any from another brand that works with Volvo?
Its located under the wind shield right?
