Filter is recessed into the sump . use any good 5w/30 oil , don't forget the alloy sump plug washer

Edge 0w40 is a good choice.
I dont know what was specifically specced for your car, I thought most from that era used 10w40 originally, in that case 0w40/5w40/10w40 can be used provided it meets spec. If 5w30 is inderd called for, make sure its the right spec, you cant 'just use any', 5w30 is available in a myriad of specs, some suitable, some may be most certainly not (though it does depend on what the required spec is). You could use 0w30 too (to right spec) 👍

Some idea as to what model and type of engine you have would help. Folks could then advise exact spec.

5w-30 or 5w-40 ACEA3 is the recommended spec.

I use 5w-40 ACEA3 Shell Helix Ultra in mine.

5w30 is a bit thin for an older engine imho
avoid oils stating C3, A5, B5 etc too thin under load
5w40 or 10w40 semi- or fully synthetic will do.
I use 0w40 mobil 1 largely as I have a few bottles to use up

paper filter ? for an 850 ? You need a screw-on canister type
