Default Real world fuel tank range V70

Afternoon all.

So I decided to brim my D5s fuel tank and I'm going to do a real world test of how many miles I can get out of full tank.

I won't drive like miss daisy, nor will I drive it like I stole it.

I live in East Yorkshire, so the driving will be mainly A roads with a bit of dual carriageway.

Currently done 170 miles showing 1005 range and needle just on the mark.

So what do people think I'll achieve?

550 miles I'd guess if it's a manual.

I just did just over 600 miles in my V70 2006 2.4d manual from a full tank, the DIM was showing 140 mils remaining range but the fuel gauge needle was in the red so I chickened out and refilled! The fuel consumption figure was showing 48-49 mpg, which when checked in the past has been 3-4 mpg optimistic.

Ours, on mixed driving, puts the warning lamp on at about 625 miles elapsed.
I will travel up to 50 more, on the same journey, and get 67 litres in the tank to the second click. It works out at 10 miles per litre give or take and has been that way for the twelve years of our ownership.

I can get in the region of 600 ish normal driving. I have managed around 600 on 3/4 tank after largely high speed running.
Commuting I average 38mpg, on the weekend away with the long high speed run, family of 5 with a weekends luggage etc, with some commuting before & after I got 45.5mpg. 45.5 mpg= 700 miles for a 70L tank...

I wish my petrol XC70 would give me that kind of figure.. have to say though that I did squeeze 420 out of a tank on run from Kent to The Lake District last year and that wasn’t exactly hanging around.

I've just done two long trips and tested on the way up and down.
XC70 55 plate trip comp said 59mpg on the way up(me driving) and 56 on the way back with Ms driving mainly......calculated about 46mpg, that's with a seized rear calliper for the return trip it seems.
I'm doing another trip fri so I'm hoping to get +60 on the trip and 50+ on real world....commuting trip says 43mpg(in and out of Mcr).

I'm fairly happy with that.

Saw 600 miles to low fuel warning light on holiday, cruising at the speed limits. Computer showed 60.3mpg, calculated at 53mpg (brim to brim).
