Default Travelling to France? Discounted SANEF toll tags

I'm planning a trip to France in a few weeks time and a friend suggested getting a tag for the French motorway tolls (to save queuing time at busy periods). I've just found that you can get a reduced price on this if you are travelling via Eurotunnel and have a booking reference or frequent traveller number - saving the €10 application fee. The link to this offer (which I note can be withdrawn at any time but seems to have been going for a couple of years now) is http://www.eurotunnel.com/uk/travell...sanef-tolling/

Please note, I have no affiliation with SANEF or Eurotunnel - just sharing the information in case it's useful to others

Wish I had done that before heading for France last June!

11 hours driving alone in an old Discovery is tiring enough on the back, without the 10 or 12 times I had to clamber into the passenger seat to feed the toll machines, before clambering back...

I did have a passenger for the return leg!

That sounds expensive, I paid 3 euro for mine last year, ready for a trip down france this year. The company I used links it to a UK bank account so no messing with credit cards and it takes payment monthly, so there is only one conversion fee.

Looks like the offer I used has gone, I use a 'liber-t evasion' tag, designed for occasional use. http://www.atmb.com/en/the-autoroute...ber-t-evasion/

That does look interesting - the SANEF Liber-t tag I posted a link to also uses a UK bank account (via direct debit) but the monthly fee is €5 (capped at €10 each year) so quite a bit more expensive than your route (excuse the pun) via ATMB!
