The radios themselves are made by Alpine, are 4x20w or 4x25w depending on model and sound very good.
The speakers are the weak link.
I changed a couple of the speakers in my T4 for infinitys and it sounded even better!!

If you want more ummph, the SC-805 has an output for an external amplifier that Volvo supply. You can get 4x60W for that radio and maybe even the 4x100w would fit too, although they only show it with the SC-901 radio in their brochures.

Later,
Dan.

Dan,

Have you got any more info on the SC-805 because I have been trying to track down an adapter so I can plug RCA connectors (for an MP3 player) into the CD Changer 8-pin socket. I have seen these available for Alpine units (although there are two types) - would you know if the might work?

Thanks,

Paul

paul

i had a look at those adaptors and mailed the guys at

http://www.incarexpress.co.uk

for the CR906 head unit and the respose was as follows :-

"No. Although Volvo units use Alpine changers, they use a different changer protocol, and it's also very doubtful that the unit's aux input enabled anyway."

cheers

I have done a fair bit of research on this and what Scott says is correct - the changer protocol has been changed deliberately so you can only use a Volvo ( Alpine ) changer. I've just bought a changer secondhand ( thanks Nick ) with the intention of combining my mstation hardrive output with the changer output via a remote switch. I'll post results when I get around to it.
