Book time - steering rack gaiter?

The garage are saying that they work from Autodata times and that replacing a single steering rack gaiter has a time of 1.5 hours. Can anybody check this for me? Car is a 2011 (2WD) V70 D5 Geartronic R-Design.

If it is half an hour on Autodata and someone can email me a screenshot then there will be a reward!

I would take it to the dealer .
Volvo official time , job 64346 0.5 hr ...0.9 hr for both ...

I would if the job hadn't already been done- I let them do it since it had failed its mot and I needed it back on the road to get to work.

I have come across their unscrupulous practice's in the past. WD40 squirted on a damper, Oh sir you have a leaking shock absorber, very dangerous we can fit new for ££££. Stanley blade into boots was another favourite, Oh sir sir look split boot, very dangerous and mot fail, we can do it for ££££.

I have mates in the trade and been around garages for 50 years, some of the cons make my hair curl.

If ever I have that scenario I insist on seeing it for myself before letting them go ahead but would never go to kwikfit for an mot in the first place.

Volvo gets mot at dealers and landrover at trusted independent and Im with it, any garage that does not allow me into the workshop doesn't get my car to work on or inspect.

I will not buy tyres from them now, let alone let them use spanners on my car.

No it wasn't kwik fit.

I am not going to use that garage again for any mechanical work. I did debate letting them do any suspension work needed, but will get that done elsewhere now.
