Android Auto is a colossus waste of screen real estate.
This is Google Maps, which is fine, but the top 1/2 is completely wasted. Picture from the passenger side BTW!

Yeah I was so excited to get a car with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, but the end result wasn't great.
I do use Apple CarPlay sometimes for Audible, the weird shape of the Volvo screen makes both the phone display systems look super small and weird sized, Waze is semi-decent via Apple Car Play, the routing is slightly better than the built in Volvo sat nav however the GPS can be iffy at times (not sure if its routing the phone's GPS or combining the car but either way it can get a bit lost in London). Overall with TuneIn and Spotify built in to the car I rarely use them, even the Sat Nav in the Volvo is decent (apart from navigating around London in peak traffic where the routing system can let it down).
